Kilkenny and Tipperary both reach 100 goal milestone!

June 26, 2011

In the twelfth championship of the current century both Kilkenny and Tipperary have so far scored exactly 100 goals. Kilkenny reached this milestone after scoring 1 against Wexford while Tipp needed 4 against Clare to hit the same target. As can be seen by the table Tipp have really cranked up their goal scoring mechanism in recent times scoring 34 in the last 3 seasons.

The most scored by either team in a season is fourteen. Kilkenny reached this tally in 2004 – one of the four years they didn’t win the All-Ireland. The least number of goals was 4 by Tipperary in 2008. The least number by Kilkenny was 5 in 2002 a year they were crowned All-Ireland Champions.
